Etsy's photo requirements are more forgiving than Amazon's or TikTok Shop's, but your first listing photo carries real weight in Etsy search — undersize it and your listing can rank lower before a shopper ever sees it.
| First photo minimum | 635 × 635px (below this, search ranking suffers) |
| Recommended size | 2000px or larger on the shortest side |
| Aspect ratio | 4:3 (landscape) or 1:1 (square) |
| File size | Etsy warns that photos over 1MB may fail to upload, especially on a slow connection — keep images around 1–2MB |
| Format | JPEG, PNG, or GIF (no animated GIFs or transparent PNGs) |
| Color profile | sRGB, to avoid color shifts on Etsy.com |
| Photos per listing | Up to 20 photos, plus one 5–15 second video |
Etsy's search algorithm factors in listing quality, and a first photo below 635 × 635px is one of the signals that can push a listing further down the results. A safe, common choice among Etsy sellers is 2000 × 2000px — sharp enough for buyers to zoom in, and large enough that Etsy never has to upscale it.
Snaply doesn't yet export a dedicated Etsy size preset — a general 2000 × 2000px square export is a safe match for Etsy's recommended spec in the meantime.
